Our Donut Falls Hike

On August 11th, we went on a hike up Donut Falls in the Big Cottonwood Canyon with our friends The Bekkemelloms and the Drapers. We had so much fun. It is a 1 1/2 mile hike with lots of rocks and big hills. We went later in the afternoon so it was a little warmer than we wanted it to be but, it was a blast. Sophia loved it especially because she loves being outside. She wanted to walk the whole way all by herself. Of course we let her walk some of the way but we didn't want to hold everyone up so Adam carried her partly. But she walked 1 mile and loved every minute of it. When we were finished with the hike, we had a campfire and had tin foil dinners and smores. Except we didn't have any graham crackers, so we just had chocolate bars and marshmallows. We also roasted hot tamales and starburst. YUMMY!!! It was such a fun day!

Here's Adam, Dave, and Shawn getting ready to go up the trail!

Our trip to St. George

We just recently went to St. George to visit my brother and his cute little family. We went just for the weekend of July 26th but it was a blast. We went to tour the Tabernacle and learn about the pioneers that built it and went to play at the splash pad with my brother and his family. Sophia loved playing with her cousin and she wanted to be around her the whole time we were there. It was so cute and so fun for them to spend time together. We also went to the Brigham Young Winter House and learn more about him! It was a long drive home but it was a relaxing weekend that we needed!

Sophia keeping herself busy on the way down. She was very interested in her book!

Our little family

In 2010 we were blessed with another baby GIRL. Sophia Patricia was born on August 2nd 2010 at the Intermountain Medical Center. She was born at 10:40 pm via C-section and was 6 lbs 9 oz and 18 1/2 inches long. She was in the NICU for one week and came home a healthy baby. She is such a cute little girl and so happy. She loves her daddy and is for sure a daddy's girl but she also is a mommy's girl especially when she is sick or just wants to cuddle. She is now 2 and is as cute as ever.

We were also just recently blessed with our third baby. A BOY!! His name is Jacob Earl and was born on March 4th,2012 at the Intermountain Medical Center. He was also born via C-section and was 7lbs 4 oz and was 20 inches long. He is now 5 months old and is eating solid food and loves to sit up and play with his sister.

Just the two of us!

So after our sweet daughter passed away, it was just the two of us. We didn't know what to do now that we didn't have our baby to care for. So we just lived our life. We moved back up to Logan and started over there. I worked as a receptionist at PACE custom bags and Adam worked at Davis Auto Center as a salesman. We lived in Logan for a while and then moved up to Beaver Creek Lodge and worked up there until November of 2008. We then moved back down to the Salt Lake Valley and Adam went to work for Loomis as an Armed Guard. I went to work at Mount Olympus Waters as a receptionist and we were happy again.

2005 to 2007

The Years from 2005 to 2007 were hard but they were very special. In January of 2005 we found out that we were expecting. We were so excited to be blessed with a sweet baby. We were getting ready for the new baby to arrive and couldn't wait to be parents. When I was 4 months along, we found out that we were having a GIRL! I had always wanted to have a daughter and was so excited to teach her and love her. When I was 6 months into the pregnancy, we found out that she had down syndrome and that there were going to be some challenges along the way, but we were still going to love her because she was a gift that we had been given. She finally arrived on September 15th 2005 at the Logan Regional Hospital at 3:00 a.m We named her Mckenna Marie Bodrero. She was born via Ceaseran Section and weighed 4 lbs 4 oz and was 18 1/2 inches long. She was so precious.

She was 4 1/2 weeks early and had alot of complications. She immediately went into the NICU and got sent down to Primary Children's Hospital in Salt Lake City where they could care for her better.
She had to be hooked up to a ventilator to help her breathe for 2 weeks and when she was strong enough to breathe on her own, she got off and we finally could hold her. It was amazing to hold that sweet spirit in our arms and know that she was Heavenly Father's child and he had brought her to us to raise. We finally went home with her when she 4 weeks old and she had to come home on oxygen and a feeding tube because she wasn't strong enough to eat with a bottle or to completely breathe on her own.

We had an amazing time with her. She was only here until she was 19 months but during that time, she was ours and she was growing and was the HAPPIEST baby you could ever be around. We are so excited for the day when we can be with her again and teach her all of those things that we didn't have the opportunity to teach her when she was here. And are so glad that we are and ETERNAL family!

When I was pregnant with our sweet Mckenna!
She was being flown to Primary's 3 hours after she was born!

We got to hold our precious baby girl! Yay!

Her daddy was so happy she was finally  here!
